St Bees in Cumbria, England
The "Coast to Coast Walk" in the north of England is a stunning stretch that can take up to two weeks to complete. The trail begins in the Cumbrian town, St Bees. There are also many short seafront walks for less ambitious hikers. The walk from the cliff top to Whitehaven takes about four hours, about six miles off the Cumbrian coast, where you'll find stately country villas like The Mansion dotted.

Muxia was a medieval pilgrimage site in the past and is still in use today. In addition to religious reasons, modern pilgrims are also likely to come here for the beautiful views and energetic hikes. The seaside town of Saulkrasti is less than an hour's drive from Riga and, after a few days in the capital, many visitors choose to drive to Lilaste. This is where you'll find Lilaste's famous "sand dance" and from there it's a 2-hour walk along the coast to central Saulkrasti. This route travels along the eastern shore of the Gulf of Riga, passing through Piejūra National Park as well.
